Pre-civil war Liberia is actually pretty economically sound, experiencing the second highest economic growth in the world during the 50's and significant American investment (IRL). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LiberiaThe liberians have long watched your conquest and prepared. They respond with: 750 riflemen with semi-automatic rifles 20 snipers 10 LMG's 5 HMG's 12 lightly armed jeeps 20 old light tanks 5 archiac heavy tanks 12 artillery guns 15 entrenched AA batteries 20 interceptor jets wanting to keep civilian losses at a minimum, the Liberian Army opts to meet you at the beaches, to attempt to keep you off of the mainland. They have dug in along the stretch of beach, with HMG's and LMG's in quickly fortified structures. Czech hedgehogs pepper the beaches, you will need to destroy these with explosives or your infantry before tanks can advance. As a bonus, your infantry can use these for cover from MG fire. Liberian armour is to the east, keeping a watchful eye on the battle. they will engage from a distance, but are mainly setting up a fallback point for infantry if the beaches are taken.

Infantry is to advance under covering fire from the 7.62mm Machine guns mounted on the Cichlid Landing Crafts and use the Czech hedgehogs as cover. They are also instructed to don breathing apparatuses. Armor also disembarks from their crafts. Gorilla HMCs are to target the hostile machine gun emplacements with White Phosphorus Mortar Bombs. Python AALs are to fire rocket salvos at the AA batteries, hoping to secure a safe airspace for the jets to engage. The Flyswatter Flak guns are placed in defensive formation, protecting the main group from enemy aircraft. Air units are on standby until a safe airspace is obtained.

Liberian Interceptors do a quick run over the battlefield, preparing to cut down your forces. The Flyswatters open fire on them before they have a chance to attack, however, and 12 are destroyed. The remaining 8 scatter and fly out of range to regroup. Your armour, trapped in the matrix of Czech hedgehogs, suffers heavy losses from artillery fire. you lose 8 savages, 3 pangolins, 6 gorillas and a python before you can clear the blockage. Fortunately, the combination of explosions and the efforts of your men clear the remaining hedgehogs, allowing your armour to move forward. Enemy armour suffers heavy losses from your rockets, all but 3 AA emplacements are destroyed as well as 10 light tanks that protected them. the Mortar rounds rip through the MG fortifications, burning all HMG's and LMG's in a horrible inferno. The remaining infantry, seeing this destruction and helplessly pinned down by Cichlid fire, abandon the beach and retreat to the armoured positions. Your infantry shoots 150 of the panicked soldiers. Seeing your troops advancing, Liberian artillery retreats to a safe distance. Because of the delay of disassembling and reassembling them, they will not be able to fire during this turn.

Pythons, Gorillas, and HMGs and LMGs are to work in tandem, targeting units at the edges of the hostile armor units, keeping them tightly grouped together. All other armor is to prepare to engage enemy armor, but remains at a safe distance. Rocket-Launching Soldiers are to fire upon the remaining AA guns. Assuming they are destroyed, the ASA Jetfighters are called in to engage the remaining Liberian fighters. The Coronatus Heavy Bombers, flanked by Weavers on all sides, do a bombing run on the enemy armor's location before the Congolese armor line advances towards them. Snipers are to target artillery servicemen, hoping to further delay the enemy artillery's re-deployment. Upon destruction of the AA guns, the Rocketeers are to assist them.

Your tandem barrage is very effective, destroying 6 light tanks and 3 heavies. the Jeeps manage to bugger out, and loop around at your infantry. The rest of the armour huddles in cramped conditions, but takes out 3 light tanks and a python with returning fire. Your rockets take out the rest of the AA's, but not in time to target the artillery, all but one of which are being delayed another turn by your snipers. Because of the delay in creating safe air, your ASA's are unable to fly out in time to catch enemy interceptors before they regroup. The Liberian Airforce charges your approaching bombers, and are able to take down 1 heavy bomber at long range. once in range of the weavers, the interceptors are attacked by your weavers and are outgunned and outmatched. 4 manage to escape, but they fly directly into ASA fire and are cut down. Your bomb run destroys all but a heavy tank. The heavy's tracks are damaged, and it is immobilized. Spotting shots of opportunity, 5 Liberian snipers take out 5 of your snipers as they fire at the artillery. Your troops now know their location, they are encamped in nearby buildings. You could shell the buildings, but this would lower the city's economic potential. The rest of the Liberian infantry flee toward the same buildings, 150 are killed by bomb shrapnel. Their moral is greatly lowered by this attack.

HMGs and LMGs are to focus fire on the jeeps. The rest of the infantry is to pursue the Liberian infantry into the buildings and engage them in close quarters. The armor line closes in on the remaining heavy tank, firing relentlessly. Snipers and Rocketeers are to continue their attack on the remaining artillery.

HMG's and LMG's kill the drivers and gunners of most of the jeeps, the remaining 2 gun down 14 of your riflemen before they are overwhelmed. Your infantry is able to kill all but 250 of the liberian soldiers. Liberian snipers have a hay-day on your exposed troops, killing 45 of them. You now know that 15 of the snipers are holed up in the 3 buildings that liberian troops retreated to, and 5 are hiding in nearby shrubbery. Your troops clear all but one of these buildings. However, upon seeing the destruction wrought by your troops and not wanting to put Liberian civilian lives in danger, the remaining troops surrender to your forces. Congrats, you win!
