If you want a more experienced mod, I'll butt out. But I would like to get a battle in before my temporary modship runs out. The Mauritanian Army is poorly equipped, but numerous and dedicated. They hole up in the capital, Nouakchott. Although this city is primarily a fishing port at this time, the catacomb-like slums will prove dangerous to your soldiers. In total, the Mauritanians have: 750 bolt action rifles 1000 shotguns 100 old HMG's 50 Monoplanes 50 assault jeeps 20 light tanks 1 heavy tank 1 ancient battleship is in the harbour, ready to provide support.

I will begin with artillery. Gorilla Heavy Mortar Carriers and Python Armored Assault Launchers will bombard the city, hopefully bringing enemy soldiers out of hiding places and creating some more open areas. Half of my Weaver Light Jet Fighters (150) will engage the enemy biplanes. The other half will make strafing runs throughout the city. Half of my Weaver Light Bombers will also be dropping payloads on the city, while the other half will attack the Battleship. When the artillery ceases, my Heavy Machine Gunners will arrange themselves in a firing line in front of the artillery, while the rest of my ground troops will split up into two groups and maneuver into a pincer formation, corralling the enemy troops towards the waiting HMGs and artillery.

The Mauritanian monoplanes are outclassed in almost every way when compared to the Weavers, but still manage to take out 5 jets before they are destroyed. Despite a few technical failures, the HMG gunners are able to destroy an additional 5 fighters and 2 bombers. The battleship remains seaworthy despite the bombardment, and it's AA guns destroy 15 of the bombers. Despite this early victory, your weavers were able to disable the battleship's secondary armaments, leaving only it's four 16 inch cannons operational. Another bombing run should destroy the damaged ship. The ship's main cannons manage to destroy 4 HMC's and 10 Pythons. Your artillery barrage is very successful, the burning phosphor shells force civilians and soldiers alike into the resilient concrete structures outside the harbour. These structures will fall if you target them with artillery, but you will severely damage the nation's export economy. Your artillery strikes kill 250 shotgunners, and 100 riflemen. The tanks and jeeps were able to retreat before taking serious damage.

The artillery will stop bombarding the city. The Light Bombers will return and strike the battleship again, hoping to destroy it. My tanks will begin hunting the Maruitanian vehicles, using their lower profiles to their advantages. Rocketeers and Machine Gunners will also be told to be on the lookout for enemy vehicles, especially jeeps, as one rocket is more than capable of destroying an enemy jeep.

The battleship is soon destroyed, it's last shot landing harmlessly in the desert outside the city. 150 mauritanian shotgunners venture into the burnt out slums, they begin building up cover for 20 of their HMG's and digging tank traps along the dirt roadways. The rest of the infantry fortifies the concrete harbour buildings, preparing for a long battle. You manage to cut the mauritanian jeeps in half, and take out 15 light tanks. The Heavy tank remains, however, and manages to destroy 3 Savages.

The Weaver Jet Fighters are now to attack the fortified troops and the troops building fortifications, using autocannons and rockets. My remaining infantry will move into the city, dividing themselves into small groups and using guerrilla tactics to eliminate all pockets of resistance. My tanks will continue hunting enemy vehicles, being told to take advantage of any and all cover they can find.

You lose 5 medium tanks and 16 light tanks, but the enemy armour is reduced to 15 jeeps, 2 light tanks, and the heavy. They retreat into the desert and try to regroup. The 150 shotgunners and 20 HMG's are obliterated by your Weavers, but not before digging plenty of tank trenches. These will be difficult to spot from the air due to the squalor of the city's slums. Your planes manage to take out another 50 riflemen, 14 shotgunners, and 10 HMG's entrenched in the harbour, although a lucky shot from a brave HMG gunner takes down another Weaver.

The Weaver Fighters and Bombers will follow the enemy armor into the desert to try and take advantage of the lack of cover. Pythons are standing by to take care of anyone who survives the aerial assault. Gorilla Heavy Mortars are instructed to take note of wind direction and lay down a Phosphorus smokescreen that will blow into the entrenched position, thereby minimizing damage done to the city. Under the cover of the acrid fumes, my troops will don their gas masks and advance.

The enemy armour is destroyed shortly after realizing their tactical mistake. The last holdout is the troublesome heavy tank, which is destroyed by a python rocket barrage. Enemy infantry is overwhelmed by the burning phosphorus powders, all but 10 HMG's, 200 riflemen and 300 shotgunners are either killed, incapacitated, or surrender. The remaining infantry charge out of their entrenchments before they are overwhelmed by noxious gases and engage your infantry in the slums. They are quickly eliminated at the cost of 60 riflemen, 20 shotgunners, and 25 LMG gunners. Congrats, you now own Mauritania. Taking into account the country's extensive natural deposits of valuable metals but also it's struggling economy (according to the ultimate truth source, Wikipedia), I'll say you get 6k for it.
