True, I'm not saying it is impossible. Just gonna be a lot harder than I had thought.
It is all good, this will be a good fight. A challenge. Just need to do some planning, if I'm not careful this could be costly.

Hmm, the trick is probably gonna be getting them out of the woods. If I had armor, I could just roll it up into the town and hold that capital against them but I don't... Hmm... I do have a lot of men. I could do a full sweep of the woodlands, but that'd be costly. A large number of the enemies are hunters, they could be demoralized, but how? the woodlands block view, prevent them from seeing the destruction around them as much. On the bright side, I'm using LMGs, so I'll be able to move them along with me if I do a sweep or something like that. Hmm... (typing it out helps me think)

(well, my first plan was to be tank heavy... but I'm thinking of changing that to making lots of heavily armed, heavily armored, armies of infantry. See if I can't pull it off. *shrug* that plan may change too)
The infantry split into five groups of 500. 15 marksmen go with each group, the last seven marksmen falling in the fifth group. Five LMGs go with each group, fifteen in the fifth group. The groups are as follows: Group 1 -7th Veteran Brigade (500 infantry, 15 marksmen, 5 LMGs) Group 2 -9th Valor Brigade (500 infantry, 15 marksmen, 5 LMGs) Group 3 -12th Asgard Brigade (500 infantry, 15 marksmen, 5 LMGs) Group 4 -14th Midgard Brigade (500 infantry, 15 marksmen, 5 LMGs) Group 5 -10th Iron Brigade (500 infantry, 7 marksmen, 15 LMGs)
Groups 5 marches up the road, covering the woods on either side. They are the lead group, center of an "v". Groups 1 & 2 sweep the woods on the left. Group two leads of these two, their right flank covered by Group 5 on the road. Group 1 covers their left flank, following slightly behind. They march with their men in two ranks, alternating so men in rank two can shoot through "windows" between men in rank one. They are all spread out by about ten in each rank, to make the sweep effective while still keeping close enough to stay strong. Both group 1 & 2 have 5 of their marksmen scouting ahead and stealthily as possible. The other 10 marksmen in each group follow just behind the ranks, to prevent them from getting hit first, but close so they can quickly engage and eliminate threats. Their five LMGs hold towards the rear, covering the men. When opposition is reached, they come forward and take positions based off the positions of the opposition, to quickly overpower resistance. Each group keeps 100 of their men as a rear guard. Groups 3 mirrors Group 2, and Group 4 mirrors Group 1, except for they take the woods on the right hand side of the woods. Group 5 marches down the road split in two columns, each to one side of the road. If opposition comes down the road, they will quickly take cover off the sides. As the groups on either side find and flush out enemies, they use their position of being the lead group to put down flanking fire into the woods at the enemies. They move their 15 LMGs around to help give fire to the sweeping groups (1,2,3, and 4) The seven marksmen in group five look ahead to spot and engage potential threats, since the focus of the group is off into the woods.

The men in the left hand wood. (Now designated Charlie) Wait until the marksmen are ontop of them before engaging with bayonets. (- 5 marksmen) Before they are engage by and destroyed, survivors stay low and still end up getting killed. The same happens in the right hand wood. (Designated Delta) except the Swiss manage to kill 3 Infantry men too.
Total loss of the fatherland: 10 Marksmen, 3 Riflemen.
Swiss losses: 100 riflemen 100 rifle carrying Hunters 15 Shotgunners.
Back in the other defenses the moral has been significantly lowered after the sound of the massacre but they still dig in and wait for hostile forces to arrive.

Have I cleared all of the woods? or are they still in the woods? Also, have I reached the town yet with my sweep?

Reaching the town, the Austrian forces take over and fortify it. They round up all women, children, and men inside the city into the main square. Seven marksmen take up sniper positions in the town, watching the main square. Two brigades hold the interior of the city, and guard the captives. The Three remaining infantry brigades hold the wall. The remaining 50 marksmen hold the wall. 30 of the LMGs fortify the wall, 5 are located at key choke points inside the city. They then release an ultimatum that if the Swiss forces do not surrender, the captives will be killed. Men first, women second, then children.
(Brutal, but hopefully the fastest way to end this fight)

The swiss forces not wanting to see the death of their friends and families and country men decide to give up, But not before strapping grenades with quick release lines under their uniform out of sight in case of a trap. (Mwuhahahaha) But find its not a trap and surrender peacefully, Congrats you control Switzerland.

(Now that is only in case of a trap, right? so If I'm honest and fair, and don't harm anyone.... the fighting is over?)
The Austrian forces inform them at the gates that, if they comply with Austrian rule, they will be giving full rights as citizens of the Austrian Empire. Widows of those fallen in battle will be compensated as if they were widows of Austrian soldiers, with 5 year pension in addition to that to help them. The fallen of both sides will be given proper burial. The Austrian forces remove the Swiss troops firearms, allow them into the city, and release the captives unharmed.

Oh, almost forgot: The Austrian forces also extend a temporary pay raise for any Swiss soldiers who enlist in the Austrian Imperial Army.

I wouldn't say all, just most. But Switzerland, while small, does boast a very nice economy, so I'll agree with the 7.5k.
