Conquest: Belarus

The Baltic Federation is invading Belarus.

Units involved:
1st White Storm Brigade - Infantry - 150x JR-1904
1st Marksman Detachment - Infantry - 20x TR-1904

Belarusian Rebels defend themselves with 140 standard bolt action rifles, they set up defensive positions in a forest along the border with many dug in hunters and snipers hidden up in trees.

Can I receive a description of the terrain that my guys are on?

Also, I am disappoint: Arch attacks a bigger country and gets to fight 100 duuds, I attack a slightly smaller country and get to fight 140 duuds <.< I'm not saying, I'm just saying. Worry not though, I shall still find a way!

The 1st White Storm Brigade and 10th Marksman Detachment set up shop on the very edge of the enemy's range. If they're rifles have shorter range than mine (with the scope I predict that my marksmen can put semi-accurate fire to about 500-600 meters, the bullet can go further) then the marksmen will be ordered to start engaging the hostiles at will. A perimeter will be set up around the forces to guard against any flanking force and to eliminate hostile patrols/scouts.

Once set up, a flanking force of 20 infantry from the White Storm and 10 marksmen would be dispatched to the far right flank to set up for a rapid assault on the right flank. They would stay in cover until the main assault begins.

The main assault would see my force split into three groups: Right, Left, and Centre. The Left and Centre groups would have 50 riflemen and 5 marksmen in each group. The Right group would only have 30 riflemen. At the start of the attack, the marksmen will cover the infantry as they advance. Once in combat, it is hoped that the enemy will notice the severely weakened right flank and will attempt a counter-attack of some sort. If they do, then the flanking group would spring their trap and rush to the aid of the Right group. Then the fight would be a steady advance to the trenches under the cover of friendly marksman fire. If the enemy doesn't take the bait, then the flanking group will execute a deep right flank and hopefully get into the trenches.

a group of 75 men move to investigate and attack, they are countered by Skulls forces, the remaining forces still hide in foxholes and in the trees.

I am going to press for another attack. Having marksmen in the rear again to cover the infantry. If there is any break in the enemy's defenses, then I would focus the attack there and try to get men into the trenches.

This time only a squad move into the open, meanwhile another 25 men sneak round the rear of Skulls forces.

Just FYI, I was not using the same tactic. I was launching a simple, full frontal assault with the marksmen covering the rear.

However, since they did sneak around the back, 50 men have been dispatched to the aid of the marksmen, while the others continue to press towards the foxholes. Once in there, close quarters battles would ensue. If the threat in the rear is dealt with, then the 50 rifles will move back to the frontlines.

The rear sneak attack fails, 5 marksmen along with 3 riflemen were killed of Skulls forces, all of the attackers were killed, in the forest the rebels were killed, Skulls forces are successful and now own Belarus.

But I'd like to point one thing out: Arch fought 100 infantry, 5 heavy MGs and 2 howitzers. That's much more of a threat than 40 extra infantry men.

Thanks Chief, i was a bit worried, glad i ended up doing a good job, could get interesting if there is still empty land nearer to the 60's/70's with big tanks, big guns, and air forces
