This army seems too small, even by GC terms... 2 apcs, 2 helicopters, 8 soldiers and 4 cats? Unless you're going for a surgical strike (assassinating the current leader and staging a coup, or something like that) I can't see how this would work.

Surgical strike, maybe.
The Jets are also equipped with FAE missiles.

still, even with thermobarics i can't see you taking out an entire army... I'm tempted to throw a hundred enemy soldiers at you just to see what you'd do.

Heh. TBH l was looking forward to seeing what kind of manoeuvres you'd pull with such a small force. That being said... The Hondurans make their stand in Tegucigalpa, using newly furnished skyscrapers in the commercial district to optimize their defence. This will be a tight, vertical battle. The defensive force consists of: 30 Riflemen 70 SMG troops 4 Heavy Tanks 4 Medium Helicopter Gunships 1 SAM fortification

d'oh. Well I feel sheepish. In that case, the Hondurans have fortified the airport. They assemble their infantry in makeshift barricades along receiving areas, and their armour has congregated along a main airstrip.

The COUGAR infantry will disembark from the Jaguars just outside of the combat area, the cats will remain protected inside the Jaguars. The Banshees will split up, three will fly perpendicular to the combat zone and use AGMs to eliminate enemy armour, and the fourth will use a multipurpose FAE missile to torch the SAM site. Chaff and high speed will be used to divert enemy missiles. Following the completion of the elimination of enemy armour, the Jaguars will escort the COUGARs into the area. The Jaguars will use their dual miniguns to bring down the enemy helicopters. Following this, the COUGAR riflemen and women will use the Jaguars as cover, and throw flashbang grenades to stun the enemy, followed by quick volleys of semi-automatic fire. A quick, clean battle is expected, but the troops are warned to be weary in case of a stalemate.

The Heavy tanks are no match for your thermobaric armaments, their aged armour cracks and buckles under the stress of heavy fuel air explosions as the crew's lungs collapse. The Honduran Tank Division is no more. The SAM site fares slightly better. It is able to detect your banshee coming, and fires a volley of SAMs at your jet, the first salvo is distracted by flares but the second features a direct hit. Before being struck, your pilot let loose a FAE, completely destroying the SAM fortification. The Enemy Helicopters scatter at the sight of your AA capable Jaguars, launching a few rockets at your troops. These land unevenfully out of range. After losing one of their own, the gunships pull out of range of your transports, but are likely to regroup for a counter-attack. Your flash-bangs stun some of the Honduran troops, but many of them keep to their effective, if crudely crafted cover. The COUGAR volleys kill 12 riflemen and 6 SMG troops who were disoriented by the flashes, but the semi-auto fire is not enough to pin down their comrades. SMG return fire kills 4 COUGAR operatives.

The Banshees will circle around, and the COUGARs will mount up into the Jaguars. The Jaguars will fall back slightly, allowing the three Banshees to deliver a Fuel Air Explosive strike on the ground forces. Following this, the Jaguars will ram through the weakened barricade and deploy the COUGAR units, who will strike the remaining enemy ground forces with speed and precision. The cats will also attack. The Jaguars will assist with clusters of enemies, but for the most part they will keep their guns trained on the sky in case the enemy gunships return for another run.

(In the future, I'd make you have to refuel your Jets, just to keep things balanced out. I'll let it slide for this battle, but I like to throw a turn between aerial attacks)
Your FAEs tear through the makeshift barricades, and severely damage your enemy's fighting force. Your Jags move in, and the COUGARS proceed to attack. The Gunships swing back in for a counter attack, destroying 2 APCs, but they are quickly shredded. Your troops face some initial resistance in the close quarters of the ruined fortifications, but they ultimately overpower the defenders. Congrats, you won Honduras. 5.5k per day. your total losses: 1 banshee 2 Jaguars 9 COUGAR squads
