Ah, the age of basic space warfare is dawning on us, GC players. To make the names unique from naval terms, I suggest we use Russian terms. Only a suggestion, these may not be used.
Sizes will be settled later.
-Katyer - Small Space Ship. Something the size of a Space Shuttle and smaller. -Udarniy - Strike Ship -Korvet - Corvette -Fregat - Frigate -Razrushitel - Destroyer -Kreyser - Cruiser -Linkor - Battleship -Kosmonosets - Carrier (term does not exist in real life, instead of "aveo-nosets" [aero-carrier] I replaced with "kosmo-nosets" [space-carrier])
-Desantniy - Landing Ship -Razvedchik - Scout/Recon Ship -Patrulniy - Patrol Ship -Istrebitel - Interceptor
More will be added.

I move that we use easier to spell names, as I can't spell english words on the best of days, haha.

I'll try to keep the names short In fact, I think I can shorten the carrier name.

I vote we don't use Russian names. Let's just invent some English names.

"Invent"? Please elaborate.

To produce or contrive (something previously unknown) by the use of ingenuity or imagination.

Well then. I actually thought of this: different alliances (TREX, KWA, TATO) can create their own classifications.

Personally, I think a better idea would be to come up with the names, and then when we PMG our spaceships, we can call them whatever we want. After all, you can usually just add 'star' or 'space' to the naval terms and boom goes the dynamite.

Boring isn't necessarily bad. I suggest something like this: [/i] Class 2 (or Medium) Battlestar (instead of Frigate)Star Destroyer Spacecruiser/Starcruiser Class 3 (or Heavy) Battlestar (instead of Battleship)Fleet Station (Carrier - this could essentially be a militarized Space Staton. Alternatively, we could call it a Spacecraft Carrier)[/ul] And that brings up an interesting point - How do we figure out sizes? Atmospherical displacement relevant to Earth's atmosphere? Cubic meters?

Sizes are also something to think about. I have no idea though.

I like Asrodrig's name simple and easy Sorry Prok not everyone knows Russian And sizes aren't we entering the future where we make stuff people never sees before IRL so it would be hard to tell

I'll be using Russian names, so I'll make my names correspond to your terms.
Sizes: if someone makes a 100m spaceship "Frigate" and another makes a 10000m spaceship "frigate" and they both pay the same... well there will be problems.
I have already made AND am in the process of fielding a spaceship, so maybe we could base it off of mine for now? 100m - 200m for a Class 2 Battlestar?

We could also classify them by armament, although that might get complicated. Unfortunately, there is very little information on how ships are classified in existing sci-fi literature.

And usually, scifi spaceships are very advanced... ours are very basic, so far.

Just put "Star" in front of everything.
Star Frigate Star Destroyer Star Cruiser Star Battleship Star Carrier
Ad infinitum.

Agreed with Icy. BTW, what about prices? Surely they won't be cheap, but thought I should ask...

No they are not going to be cheap in the slightest. Proks Fregat is 700k.

And the Fregat is literally a Star Frigate, in rodrig's terms a Class 2 Battlestar. You can imagine how much a Linkor will cost (Class 3 Battlestar)

Yeah, that's what I said, they are not going to be cheap at all.
