Unmarked container ships arrived at ports north of Seattle a few hours ago. These unloaded mass amounts of Russian armies. The Americans were slow to respond, bringing only a small reserve to protect Seattle itself. The small group of Russian troops are already attacking Seattle, as the bulk of the army hasn't arrived yet. The American troops have to hold out until a larger reinforcement will arrive, that could actually withstand the bulk of Russians that might arrive any minute.
The Russian troops have already arrived at Ballard, and have established themselves there. A major group is crossing the Salmon Bay at the two bridges, on Highways 99 and 5.
The Americans now set up positions, right under Lake Union. All except artillery and long range SAM units are going to be stationed in North Seattle, mostly overlooking the two highways. They expect the Russians to be taken by surprise.
Artillery and long range SAM units are set up on Harper Island. Russian artillery is set up near Green Lake.
Russians are expecting this kind of ambush, so light gunships are sent out to scout the area. Almost immediately after entering Seattle, a gunship is brought down by a SPAAG. This cautions the army and forces the gunships to leave.
American units are given the order to not fire until the Russians enter the city. Order was given too late, as the Russians are fully aware of the "trap".
Russian ground attack aircraft are given orders to strike fast at the SPAAG location. The purpose of this is more to provoke the American fighter jets. The strike succeeds and takes out a SPAAG and 6 AR Ghost units. Russian columns are led by jeeps and mechanized infantry, and are now entering the city.
American units are allowed to fire. IFVs, tanks, and jeeps are in the alleys firing upon the Russians on the highways.
Russian tanks and IFVs enter the alleys. 1 on 1, they are outnumbering the American troops. However, they are attacked from rooftops by AT troops and infantry. 2 Russian tanks and 2 IFVs are lost. Gunships are called in.
3 American tanks and 3 IFVs are lost. The American gunships are also called in retaliation.
Russian SMG troops storm the buildings, effective against the Americans in close quarters. This gives the Russians an advantage; Russians lose 6 SMG units and Americans lose 10 AR units. Russian infantrymen are moving through the streets along with the tanks.
American SPAAGs bring down all Russian light gunships, and 1 ground attack jet. However, they are in turn destroyed by the remaining air units after their locations are found out. Russian SPAAGs are able to take down 2 Little Bird light gunships and 3 Comanche medium gunships.
Snipers on the rooftops kill 4 Russian AR troops, and 3 American AR troops.
Russian and American artillery now target buildings that are suspected to have enemy troops.
Bear bombers are enroute, protected by Russian fighters. American fighters and interceptors place the bombers at a priority. The Russian fighters are able to take down 6 American jets and 1 interceptor, and 1 bomber falls to the ground. 4 Russian fighters are destroyed by the enemy fighters.
The American SAM units destroy 2 Russian gunships. They are too soon found and destroyed, as they are not protected by any armour or infantry.
5 more Russian tanks are destroyed, as well as 2 SPAAGs, and 1 IFV. 7 jeeps are destroyed. Buildings have been cleared out and all enemy MBTs and IFVs destroyed by air strikes and ground forces. 6 American jeeps have been destroyed. All AT infantry on the American side have been wiped out, and all riflemen/minigun troops have been forced to take a last stand near their command vehicle down in central Seattle.
Only 2 American gunships remain by this time. They have totally lost morale and are performing terribly, only taking out around 4 Russian riflemen, 2 SMGs, and 2 jeeps.
All American snipers have been killed, and only 2 Russian snipers remain.
American air superiority fighters realize their mistake. They now chase after the Russian ground attack jets, but are chased down by Russian air superiority. Every single American jet is destroyed, 2 Slamhounds on the Russian side are destroyed.
The last push: Russian troops go head on towards the command unit. Another Russian MBT is destroyed, as well as 3 SPAAGs. Both American gunships fall. Desperate Americans turn their AT launchers towards the air and manage to bring down one Russian gunship. Unfortunately, the Bear bomber arrives at the scene, wiping out the command unit along with the infantry and jeeps stationed near it.
Russian gunships are told to find the artillery units and wipe them out. Since they have no anti-air support, the artillery units are helpless against the aerial threat.
The Russians are now in control of Seattle.
American Pros:
[/li][li]In the beginning of the battle, they spread out their anti-air units well enough to make sure they had to be individually destroyed.
[/li][li]They brought enough AT to damage the Russians severely.
[/li][li]Ambushing was a good idea if they executed it efficiently.
American Cons:
[/li][li]The Americans didn't bring enough anti-air. If they did, they could have destroyed enough air to let their own air units dominate.
[/li][li]American Air Superiority should not have targeted the bombers first. They should have taken out enemy fighters and ground attack.
[/li][li]They were outnumbered from the beginning.
[/li][li]The order to not fire until Russians entered the city was given too late. The Russian were aware of the threat by the time they entered.
[/li][li]Concentrating all forces in a last stand was a no-no. They should have kept them in clumps around the city, to continue ambushing.
[/li][li]They needed more SMG to withstand the Russians in the buildings.
Russian Pros:
[/li][li]They outnumber the enemy.
[/li][li]They brought enough air units to outnumber the American anti-air.
[/li][li]Scouting the city with helos was a good idea, even with a sacrifice.
[/li][li]Storming the buildings with SMG units was a good idea.
Russian Cons:
[/li][li]If the Russians brought more light AT, they would have sustained less heavy armour loss.
[/li][li]Snipers were quite useless when American troops are hiding inside the buildings.
