Operation Enduring Freedom is now in effect, British forces approach the Australian coast, as they get closer Spruance Class destroyers start actively scanning the skies and engaging ANY UT aircraft be it attack or transport aircraft.
Once within range HMS Millennium will engage the shore with ICBM's, VLS and its main guns. 2 Vulcan bombers will deploy from an airbase in New Zealand and fly at high altitude towards UT Shore defences where they will bomb any dug in troops, 1:10 bombs will be white Phosphorous, the thick flames and choking smoke will hopefully force UT troops out into the open where they will be mopped up by High explosive rain.

Between the UDKA and the shore stands the mighty UT navy, with OGW the most protected and in it's center.
All mid-powerful ships such as frigates and corvettes will stay in close groups of 4 not too close to each other and seek out these Spruance Class vessels as a first priority. Upon sighting them or any other enemy vessel a nearby destroyer will assist in engagement, and OGW or the SLBM sub will provide accurate missile support. Upon sighting enemy subs a killer group of two stealth/nuclear HK subs will destroy the enemy subs.
The beach is peppered with area denial systems of all sorts, mainly deep mines as well as shallow mines. The waters behind the UT fleet are also lined with randomly placed advanced water mines and ship/boat detection systems.
UT planes are not yet in the air yet.
Tanks and heavy weapons stay out of the fray until I call them in, for now only IFVs and smaller vehicles are in play, as well as artillery systems. Mass amounts of elite Tier 5 infantry are staying within thick bunkers and defence structures constructed in the past few years, and will be killing the UDKA regulars if they get on shore, which is highly unlikely. Also, artillery strikes are authorized on these men.

The Royal Navy taskforce will hold a 100 mile distance from UT ships and will hold a defensive formation (See spoiler) until the all clear is given to move up. Satellite observation will be put in effect to watch for hostile missile launches and will relay the co-ordinates to HMS Millennium serving as the flagship of the taskforce who will then relay it down the chain. 4 CN-225 Subhunters will conduct a fast flyby over a 25 mile long x 100 mile wide stretch of ocean dropping sonar buoys to along with ship fitted sonar and towed sonar, listen/watch for enemy submarines. Once enemy subs are spotted they will be engaged by Subhunter aircraft. From HMS Millennium 2 small Unmanned Submersible Vehicles will be launched and used to watch for submarines approaching the taskforce, these subs will be watched from both HMS Millennium and the 10 CN-225 ASW aircraft which are ready to be scrambled. Once the formation is set the taskforce will move at low speeds towards the UT fleet, once within range the UT Frigates and destroyers will be prioritised by the Enforcer classes, the Spruance classes will stay behind their escort ships ready for any scrambled UT aircraft. HMS Millennium will stay in the center of the taskforce and will engage the UT OGW alongside the Helmsman class cruisers with everything they have. All missiles, ICBM's, main guns and VLS systems aboard the 5 ships will target key centers of the OGW. To attempt to cripple it. Any launched enemy missiles will be targetted by CIWS. Taskforce: Dark Grey = Enforcer Class Light Grey = Spruance Class Dark OD = Leyland Class Light OD = Helmsman Class Red = HMS Millennium, Millennium Class Dark Brown = Ark Royal class Peach/Light Tan = Goliath Class fast mothership Yellow = Carioca Class Helicopter Carrier Blue = Ocean Class Dark Red = Edinburgh class tank landing ship Pinkish-brown = London Class Minesweeper/countermeasures ship

All ships and subs are recalled into a similar defensive position around the OGW, awaiting enemy attack behind a field of mines freshly being made, seeing as the UT is the defender in this case.
To deal with attacking elements:
In that similar formation, destroyers will mainly target enemy smaller craft, destroyers of their own size and any enemy aircraft that dare move in. Smaller ships will assist in this process, and OGW along with the Slava cruiser will use even more firepower such as missiles, large calibre guns (once in range) and ICBMs to shred the HMS Millenium, then focus on the Aircraft carrier behind it, and then the rest of the fleet. Meanwhile the Akula SLBM sub will pop up in random locations and fire a volley at unsuspecting enemy ships, assisted by two stealth/nuclear HK subs. 10 UT Sukhoi Su-38 ground attack jets equipped with anti-ship missiles and equipment are scrambled, they will stay very low and fire missiles at enemy ships. Also equipped with 2 air-to-air missile in case they meet a subhunter or other enemy craft.

With two seemingly defensive forces facing off, turtle-ing at each other and trying to minimize all losses, the Gun fire does the most damage. Most missiles in the air end up being shot down before they reach their targets, having to fly over gauntlets of CIWS. 35% of the UK's sub-capital fleet is destroyed outright during the fight, while only 20% of the UT's sub-capital fleet is destroyed. The real damage is felt in the "crippled" group. 45% of the UK's sub-capital fleet is crippled beyond fighting ability and is forced to turn back, and 40% of the UT's sub-capital fleet is crippled as well. The UK loses 60% of its ASW forces during the fight, but not before killing 50% of the UT subs. All capital ships find themselves heavily damaged but still floating. Missile launching and tracking is disabled, and above deck superstructures have been destroyed, crippling radar and other electronic systems, and forcing commanders to lead from below deck command rooms instead of the bridge. The large anti-capitalship weapons of opposing forces have also heavily damaged all carriers, reducing their runways and elevators to only 25% capacity for the remainder of the battle.
The Bombing raid also causes a 20% loss to each unit type in the area on land, and may continue to do damage due to the raging fires.

UK Info from previous rounds. 45% of the remaining fleet crippled. 35% destroyed. 3 ASW Planes destroyed.
25% capacity for Helo and Aircraft carriers.
No missile launching capacity from HMS Millennium.
Losses: Total destroyed - 18 ships 5x Leyland Class Frigates 1x London Class Minesweeper 6x Enforcer Class Destroyers 6x Spruance Class Destroyers Crippled - 15 Ships 3x Leyland Class Frigates 4x Enforcer Class Destroyers 3x Spruance Class Destroyers 1x Goliath Class Motherships 1x Carioca Class Helicopter Carrier 3x Edinburgh class tank landing ships
Remaining Ships - 19 HMS Millennium - Main Guns Only HMS Ark Royal - 25% Capacity 1x London Class Minesweeper 4x Helmsman Class Missile Cruisers 1x Edinburgh Class Tank Landing Ship 2x Leyland Class Frigates 4x Enforcer Class Destroyers 5x Spruance Class Destroyers 2x Ocean Class LPH's - 25% Capacity
Other Losses: 3x CN-225 Subhunters
With a large majority of the task force heavily damaged or destroyed all weapons operators are given orders to be as accurate as possible to attempt to cause as much damage as possible. Helmsman class cruisers will fire on the crippled OGW now severly reduced in combat capabilities, whilst the remaining guns on HMS Millennium will assist the remaining Enforcer class destroyers in defending the task force from UT Frigates and destroyers. From HMS Ark Royal 3 Air Superiority Harrier jets will deploy to engage UT Fighters in the air, remaining within the protective radius of the Spruance class destroyers. Another 2 ground attack harriers will deploy carrying anti-ship weapons to engage smaller UT ships. A second trio of Vulcan bombers will take off and continue their bombardment of the beach.

So... uh... I just lost 20% of infantry and APCs. That's $331,360.
Prioritizing big ships, cannons, and CIWS systems now. We would like to minimize the artillery systems to stop the barrage on the beach, CIWS to minimize resistance to missiles and aircraft, and big ships to lower morale and stop the invasion from reaching the shore.
50 more Su-38 aircraft are launched to deal with the ships, and 20 multirole Tier 5 6th gen Stealth MiGs will be launched to assist them in their tasks. Especially ward off pesky harriers.

Well fu- Jet blob warfare has been release....
All ship mounted CIWS and AA guns target enemy ships, the Spruance class vessels will be put to immediate use engaging any and all enemy aircraft as far away from the taskforce as possible.
The Helmsman class cruisers will continue their mass bombardment of the UT OGW aiming to destroy it and send it to the bottom of the sea. However two Helmsman class cruisers will fire all the SLBM's they are carrying at any UT air bases on the mainland, aiming to reduce enemy airborne capabilities and destroy as many jets as possible.
Any UT missiles approaching the British Task Force are targetted by the defensive systems aboard the Helmsman class vessels, the Kinetic Countermeasures will aim to either knock UT missiles of course or detonate them in the sky, meanwhile Emmiting Decoys will be launched with the cruise missiles to try and draw UT CIWS fire.

|
|
Post by ProkAdama on Aug 17, 2012 23:08:30 GMT
The UT cruiser will target the cruisers back, and the OGW's 700k frame should be able to ward off the missile strikes, and use decoys, emitters, and lasers to destroy missiles, and even give back twice the cruisers firepower combined.
UT jets will hold a very high altitude out of the range of SAMs and CIWS systems and will drop out only to strike.

With the swarm of enemy aircraft trying to fly above SAM level the task force will focus on getting moving, as they move forwards the remaining London class minesweeper will clear the waters infront of the taskforce of enemy mines, behind it 2 surviving Enforcer class destroyers will be watching for approaching enemy ships whilst 2 Spruance class will keep the skies infront of the task force free.
With enemy air activity picking up the remaining subhunter aircraft are currently grounded unless any enemy sub(s) are pinpointed and cannot be destroyed by surface warships. (Enforcer class destroyers are armed for anti-submarine warfare.)

2 task forces consisting of 2 destroyers, 3 frigates and 3 frigate-corvettes each will position themselves around a central pit full of mines on either side in front of OGW and the main naval force. When the enemy navy moves in, the task forces and the central navy will move in to crush the enemy from 3 sides.

With the enemy moves spotted the UK taskforce halts and resumes its bombardment of UT ships. The Helmsman class cruisers will resume its missile bombardment of the OGW and its escorts in the main group.
HMS Millennium will uses its guns to engage the 2 smaller task forces in particular. The remaining ships will engage the UT Navy overall whilst also attacking the UT Airforce when able.
4 Vulcan Stealth bombers will move inland flying a long route around Australia and moving from north to south to strike UT Air bases and aircraft whilst grounded.

Well, half the SLBMs launched at airbases actually make it through to their targets, which conswquently reduces the UT's ability to fend off the bombers (who's exact location was difficult to pin point quickly). 3 of those 4 deliver their payloads reducing UT Ground Force numbers by an additional 30% (For a total of 50% losses, just going 10% per bomber)
During the naval battle, another UT sub eventually is sunk. With most of the fighting focusing on the capital ships, who's missile counter measures were largely damaged, by this point all capital ships find themselves floating piles of steel and not much else. The refuse to sink but are utterly useless in the battle from this point on. The only thing saving them are the incoming missiles that had been shot down by surrounding ships. Both sides have lost 60% of remaining ships outright, while the UT air superiority has caused another 30% of remaining UK ships to be crippled beyond use. ((This leaves the UT with 40% of remaining ships and the UK with 10% of remaining ships)) UK attempts to fight off the air superiority dented the total UT airforces by 55% (Including AA defenses), while suffering total loss of airforces themselves, due to sheer numbers.
With the number of ships in the water and jets in the air vastly cut from the beginning of the battle, the only chance the UK has of making landfall is for its troops to just make a run for the coast in their transports. The battle is proving costly to both sides and may never step foot on land.

Round 2 Update: 45% of the remaining fleet crippled35% destroyed. 3 ASW Planes destroyed.
25% capacity for Helo and Aircraft carriers.
No missile launching capacity from HMS Millennium.
Losses: Total destroyed - 18 ships 5x Leyland Class Frigates 1x London Class Minesweeper 6x Enforcer Class Destroyers 6x Spruance Class Destroyers Crippled - 15 Ships 3x Leyland Class Frigates 4x Enforcer Class Destroyers 3x Spruance Class Destroyers 1x Goliath Class Motherships 1x Carioca Class Helicopter Carrier 3x Edinburgh class tank landing ships
Remaining Ships - 19 HMS Millennium - Main Guns Only HMS Ark Royal - 25% Capacity 1x London Class Minesweeper 4x Helmsman Class Missile Cruisers 1x Edinburgh Class Tank Landing Ship 2x Leyland Class Frigates 4x Enforcer Class Destroyers 5x Spruance Class Destroyers 2x Ocean Class LPH's - 25% Capacity
Other Losses: 3x CN-225 Subhunters
________________________________________________________________
Round 2: HMS Millennium useless during battle. 10% of Ships remain Deployed Air forces destroyed. Carrier forces and undeployed into airspace remain.
Remaining Ships: 1x Helmsman Class Missile Cruisers 1x London Class Minesweeper 1x Edinburgh Class Tank Landing Ship 2x Enforcer Class Destroyers 2x Spruance Class Destroyers 1x Ocean Class LPH - 25% Capacity 1x Ark Royal Class - 25% Capacity - If the air forces that were not deployed off of this or Ocean are also destroyed there will be three of each class of destroyer not two.
The surviving Edinburgh class LS(T) surrounded by landing craft of different sizes and Hovercraft will move behind the London class minesweeper advancing to land at "Somers" whilst the destroyers and Cruiser that remain in the task force will protect the Helo carrier and Aircraft carrier. The Spruance class ships will cover air defence of both the task force and landing forces whilst the Enforcer class ships will attempt to hold off enemy advances using its missiles mainly and then using the main guns when enemy ships are in range assisted by the gun on HMS Helmsman and the 2 Spruance class ships. Ontop of the naval landing 1 PARA will be dropped onto shore just ahead of the naval landing point by 6x C-130 Hercules transports flying at low level where the Paras and land rovers will be landed through LALO (Low Altitude Low Opening) parachute techniques. Once on the ground British forces will immediately move to HMS Cerberus, An abandoned Naval base to the immediate east of the landing zones, to occupy it as a foothold on the ground.
LASR Milan units and Browning M2 .50 Cal Machine guns will line the walls of the compound that makes up the base manned and ready to engage UT Armour and troops, the two recce sections* will move out into the wooded areas that flank the MSR into the base around 200m away over open ground to act as a early warning, when UT forces reach the sections they will inform the main compound as well as wait for UT forces to pass where they will then attack on the flanks.
The Mortar Platoon will set up positions inside the main compound with observers on the walls, they will provide support for the rest of the infantry men.
The rest of the platoon without speciffic jobs will be rotating round defensive positions, 2 Companies on, 2 Companies off. The companies that are on will be engaging any enemies they can to defend to base and inflict damages on the UT Troops before offensive ops will begin. The companies that are off will be conducting Admin - Cleaning rifles, getting hot food and drink, ect. Welp... that part is now useless.....
Location of HMS Cerberus, marked as HMAS on the map. Recce section: -Recce Section 8x L82A1 Riflemen 1x Land Rover WMIKS - .50 Cal 1x Land Rover WMIKS - MILAN

Oh cool, you're going either off map or zooming up to a point which is not in the map. Very nice of you, however this Naval Base will be occupied by UT troops before you get there. The fort is occupied by UT ground troops, and is well defended. It also has 2x quadraped walkers and 10x heavy Tier 3 gunships in storage. However, this is not obvious, and they will only uncover themselves once the UDKA troops are very close to the base.
Anyway, the remaining UT ships will now start to destroy the transport craft before they reach shore. Remaining ground attack jets are rearmed with anti-ground armaments and will launch guided missiles at the transports and once on ground will tear up the infantry with their gatling guns and missile pods. Also, mines will be waiting for them once on ground. As well as remote-detonated ones.
Artillery guns will now be set up around 16 miles away, firing high explosive and white phosphorous rounds at the UDKA troops. These strikes will be precise, mainly guided by the 10 scout jets that are now in the air.
Remaining multirole jets will quickly come in and destroy the Hercules craft before they reach airspace above ground.

It is part of the bloody map, why do you think I purposely bloody screencapped both the named landing zone AND THE BLOODY "Cowes" ISLAND!.And stop calling them the UDKA troops, I am not the bloody UDKA anymore.
Alrighty then... When news arrives that the "abandoned" base is occupied transport aircraft divert and return to base, the landing forces will be halted and will return to the task forces safety, HMS London (Minesweeper) will continue with clearing mines.
From sea the remaining Helmsman class cruiser will fire its payload at the base and aim to obliterate it.
From HMS Ark Royal the remaining 7 Ground Attack Harriers will fly at low level skimming the tops of waves (Done so that any diving UT Jets will be unable to pull out of a dive if they try to dive attack) towards the remaining UT Fleet, fire their payloads and return to HMS Ark Royal.

And I wonder how the enemy found out that the base was occupied if I said it wasn't obvious... up to the mod to judge.
The UT navy will press on the attack towards the remaining enemy fleet and attempt to obliterate it, transports, near-sunken Millenium, cruisers and all in one big attack. Cruisers come first, operational ships next, transports after that, Millenium last.
Multirole jets skimming the skies will destroy these incoming jets. Since they are out of the range of enemy AA while near the UT fleet they will be flying normally.
From the UT airbase all 5 stealth heavy bombers are launched and they will stealthily fly towards the enemy fleet at a supersonic speed, Mach 2.5, to drop their enormous payload of cruise missiles.

On the surface, S-1850M* Radar fitted to the Helmsman Class is observing the air and sea for signs of any stealthed aircraft and will be relaying its findings through MILSAT network to the other remaining ships in the fleet so that Air Defences can be organised to engage the bombers if found (Battle mod) or their dropped payload.. *

These bombers are outfitted with not only traditional stealth capability but also illusion technology. Very hard to get a lock on an invisible target with stealthy exhaust release.
However, once detected, they will drop their load of cruise missiles and get out at Mach 3 going straight towards the enemy fleet maneuvering in random patterns. Then dropping guided bombs, and keep going until out of range of SAMs. Then they will turn around and go back to base.
